Construction operations platform

Coordinating trades from framed house through interior completion

A custom vanilla PHP application tracked construction schedules, assigned subcontractors, managed material orders, and coordinated drywall, insulation, taping, and painting work after homes were framed by larger builders.

Later additions included SMS communication with subcontractors, a contractor portal, and pre-filled invoice forms. When contractors accepted the prepared information without changes, the workflow could automatically approve the invoice according to defined rules.

Additional responsibilities included server hosting, asset tracking, and layered daily, weekly, and monthly file-backup routines.

Field-service ERP recovery

Rebuilding the operational foundation while preserving useful screens

A long-running field-service application tracked temporary safety equipment installed at residential construction sites. The operation needed to know where inventory was located, prepare billing based on general and per-rail fees, and convert installations into recurring charges after six months.

The system was migrated to AWS Lightsail with a cost-conscious application and database configuration. Attached storage held large volumes of field photographs while symbolic links preserved compatibility with the original application paths.

A later partial ERP rebuild redesigned the workflow and database schema to correct fundamental integrity problems. Useful existing pages were retained and redirected to the new data structure, while the remaining modules were rebuilt for mobile use, performance, and safer operational states.

Permitting and inspection software

Salvaging a delayed regulatory application under an inherited specification

A VB.NET application supported fuel-tank permit applications, approval workflows, and inspection scheduling. The project had remained partly scaffolded for years under a difficult external design specification.

After the original employment ended, an independent contract was created to repair the underlying design problems and bring the application to a usable state. The project was completed solo over approximately seven months.

A continuing prepaid maintenance arrangement then supported bug fixes, feature additions, and technical guidance over the longer term.
